Version 0.2.0

First public release, for Macs with Apple silicon running macOS 11 or later.

Added

  • Editing: writing, source and split view, with both sides of split view scrolling together
  • Formatting: formatting toolbar and keyboard shortcuts for headings H1–H6, bold, italic, strikethrough, inline code, links, images, block quotes, lists, task lists, tables, horizontal rules and code blocks
  • Navigation: heading outline, document navigation strip, [toc] table of contents, ⌘K command palette, ⌘⇧O quick open, immersive mode
  • Tables: insert, add, delete and move rows and columns, alignment, paste from spreadsheets, column widths fitted to content
  • Images: paste, drag or choose local images, copied to assets/ with relative paths
  • Code and math: code blocks highlighted by language, Mermaid diagrams, KaTeX math
  • Files: multiple tabs and windows, a folder tree that lists only Markdown, recent items, opening .md files from Finder
  • Saving: autosave every 1.5 seconds, recovery log, windows and tabs restored after a restart
  • External changes: automatic update when there are no unsaved changes; on a conflict, view changes, use the disk version, keep your own version or save a copy
  • Search: find and replace in a file (with regular expressions and undo), full-text workspace search
  • Import and export: import HTML, DOCX and text-based PDF; export HTML, DOCX, PDF and PNG; printing
  • Encodings: automatic detection of UTF-8, UTF-16 and encodings such as Big5 and GB18030, saved in the original encoding
  • AI writing assistant: off by default; your own service address and model; polish, shorten, summarize, translate and custom instructions; text written by AI is marked
  • Chinese typography: spacing between Chinese and Latin text, punctuation and line-break handling, fonts chosen for Traditional or Simplified Chinese
  • Appearance: 6 built-in themes and custom themes, bundled fonts, display zoom, line and paragraph spacing
  • Interface languages: 16 languages, following the system by default
  • Automatic updates: notices in the notification bar; clicking Update saves documents, then downloads, installs and restarts

  • In-app automatic updates: checks for new versions about 3 seconds after launch and every 4 hours, with notices in the notification bar and status bar
  • Clicking Update saves documents first, then downloads, installs and restarts, bringing back the same windows and tabs
